Creating alliances can be a key strategy in implementing research-tested interventions.  This NCI Research to Reality cyber-seminar will highlight the work of Dr. Dave Buller from Klein Buendel and Dr. Vernon Sandok and Ms. Lois Rendina from Moffitt Cancer Center.  Each will explain how engaging ski resorts, a professional baseball team (the Tampa Bay Rays), and local beaches helped lead to their success in the dissemination and implementation their respective sun safety programs, Go Sun Smart and Mole Patrol.

Join us as we explore the lessons learned in implementing evidence-based cancer control and prevention programs through partnerships by two impressive sun safety programs!

Learning Objectives

At the end of the cyber-seminar, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the benefits and challenges to engaging non-traditional partners in the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based interventions.
  • Identify at least one way that private-sector partners can assist in implementing research-tested programs on a community level.
  • Describe the partnership models used for two sun safety interventions.
