This month's NCI Advanced Topics in Implementation Science webinar, "The Decision Making Process and the Implementation of Decision Aids". We were particularly delighted to welcome Dr. Masahito Jimbo who led us in a fascinating discussion on the decision making process and the implementation of decision aids.
As Dr Jimbo noted in his presentation, while there is promising research around the effect of decision aids on cancer screening, more work needs to be done to explore areas where more information is needed to fully understand the impact of decision aids on the process and outcomes of shared decision making between the patient and the clinician.
We will be posting the archive of today's webinar shortly, but would like to open the discussion to you.
- As a researcher, what would you see as fuure directions for research around decision aids?
- Are there frameworks you consider particularly robust for optimizing implementation of decision aids?
- For pracitioners: what have been your experiences leading patients in shared decision making - especially around cancer screening?
We look forward to continuing the discussion!
