Let's Discuss: Identifying, Specifying, and Applying Implementation Strategies

For the April Advanced Topics in Implementation Science webinar, we were pleased to have Dr. Byron Powell join us from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to kick off a new suite of webinars on implementation strategies. His presentation, “Identifying, Specifying, and Applying Implementation Strategies”, provided an introduction to implementation strategies. Dr. Powell described the development and refinement of a compilation of implementation strategies, emphasized the importance of carefully specifying and reporting implementation strategies to ensure replicability, and discussed ongoing work focusing on the development of more effective ways of tailoring implementation strategies to specific contexts.  Following the presentation, the audience had an opportunity to pose questions to Dr. Powell.

We would love to have your thoughts about implementation strategies, including your responses to the following questions:

  • How do you select implementation strategies for a specific intervention or context?
  • How can you contribute evidence on the impact of the implementation strategies you use?
  • Are there novel implementation strategies that you are aware of that we should be studying?

We look forward to continuing the discussion on R2R!
