The Blue Ribbon Panel Implementation Science Working Group identified a gap between the evidence base for cancer prevention and control and the existing use of evidence-based interventions. If closed, the gap could dramatically reduce the cancer burden in the US by averting hundreds of thousands new cancer cases and cancer deaths. The group noted specifically that about 33% of adults between 50 and 75 years old --23 million--are not up to date for colorectal (CRC) screening, particularly among under-represented minorities, and that timely follow-up is particularly low in health systems serving low-income and under-insured patients (estimated at 20-50%). A major scientific gap is the lack of evidence-based implementation strategies to optimize use of CRC screening and follow up. The purpose of this webinar is to solicit feedback from stakeholders for a needs assessment that will be taking place in April 2017. The study will collect input from participants on specific research questions that need to be addressed to increase the implementation of colorectal cancer screening. This information will be used to inform NCI initiatives and activities that can improve the uptake of evidence-based colorectal cancer screening and follow-up.>---------
