Questions and Answers
The Vtrim program can be adapted for any audience that can benefit from an online behavioral weight loss program. We do have a curriculum that is already adapted for the college age demographic and additional content for specific conditions can easily be added to the curriculum in the Resources section of the site.
We have 35+ facilitators available to teach and many have specialties such as diabetes care and cancer treatment. The only disadvantage might be an overwhelming number of classes that would necessitate training more facilitators which we are prepared and able to do.
Currently, Jean Harvey-Berino, PhD,RD, Principle Investigator on all Vtrim studies and Chair and Professor at the University of Vermont Nutrition and Food Sciences Department is researching adding Motivational Interviewing to the online protocol currently used by Vtrim.
