Biography

Allison Harvey, MPH, CHES is the Senior Manager, Health Care Professional Education at the GW Cancer Institute. She is responsible for overseeing the planning, development and implementation of the Institute’s provider education. Prior to joining the Institute, she oversaw the development and dissemination of cancer patient and caregiver education programs at the Cancer Support Community. Programs were delivered in-person, on the web and through publications, and covered numerous topic areas including cancer treatments and side effects, patient/provider communication, managing the cost of care and psychosocial support. Ongoing program evaluation was conducted and findings were presented at numerous conferences, in which she was either a primary or co-author, including the American Society for Clinical Oncology, American Public Health Association, International Cancer Education Conference and San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.

Allison has more than ten years of professional work experience, with a focus on human services, education, and health. In 2011, she received her Master’s in Public Health from George Washington University (GW). She is also a Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES), and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Emory University.
