Angela McFall is the Public Education Coordinator for the Cancer Prevention and Control Section at the Michigan Department of Community Health. She has been in this position since 2010. Her responsibilities include public education for the colorectal, prostate, ovarian, breast and cervical cancer programs. She has a Masters degree in Health Science from Ball State University and a Bachelors degree in Public Health Education from Central Michigan University. Prior to working in the Comprehensive Cancer Control section, Angela spent 10 years as the state Child Passenger Safety Coordinator at the Michigan Department of Community Health.
As part of the R2R Mentorship Program, Angela selected to work with insurance providers, health care providers and/or quality assurance organizations to increase screening rates using client reminders. Angela worked, with guidance from mentor, June Ryan, with the chosen organization(s) in order to increase the CRC screening rate among insured enrollees or clients. The focus of the project will be to mail reminder cards* to insured clients that do not meet 2011 HEDIS measures. Learn more about her project.
