Erin E. Kent, PhD, MS




Dr. Erin Kent is an Epidemiologist and Program Director in the Outcomes Research Branch at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Kent manages and conducts patient-centered cancer outcomes and care delivery research, with a particular interest in informal cancer caregiving, social determinants of cancer control, and integrating mixed methods into healthcare delivery research. Her primary responsibilities include serving as scientific lead for SEER cancer registry data linkages with national surveys that assess health status, quality of life, and experiences with care, including the SEER-MHOS (Medicare Health Outcomes Survey) and SEER-CAHPS (Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems), and as lead for funding opportunities in informal cancer caregiving. Previously Dr. Kent served as an NCI Cancer Prevention Fellow, and she earned her doctorate from the School of Social Ecology at University of California, Irvine in 2010.
