Jane A. Severson, RN, MSN, MHSA
Senior Project Manager, Michigan Oncology Quality Consortium
Ms. Severson, RN, MHSA, is the Senior Project Manager for Michigan Oncology Quality Consortium (MOQC), a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan funded quality initiative. In this role, she oversees analysis of clinical quality data, setting priorities and coordinating improvement strategies for over forty (40) Michigan oncology practices that participate in the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI).
Prior to joining MOQC, Ms. Severson held several leadership roles in ambulatory care at the University of Michigan Health System including: Director of Project Management and Operations Analysis and, Regional Administrator where she worked with executive and clinic leadership to develop performance metrics, lead numerous clinic access, utilization and safety improvement projects, and assisted with strategic and physical planning related to new facilities and expansion projects. Ms. Severson has an extensive clinical career as a nurse practitioner, and manager in emergency services including at St Joseph Mercy Health System, Ann Arbor, and Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Ms. Severson received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Russell Sage College, Troy New York, and a Master’s of Science in Nursing (Adult Nurse Practitioner) from Boston University. She also earned a Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA) degree from the University Of Michigan School Of Public Health. She has completed the Lean Healthcare Certificate Program at the University Of Michigan College Of Engineering, a training program for lean healthcare professionals, as well as the University of Michigan Health Care Leadership Institute at the Ross School of Business.
