Sjonna Paulson, APR, is the Director of Health Communication for TSET. She is an accredited public relations counselor and holds a bachelor's degree in journalism/public relations and an emphasis in accounting from the University of Oklahoma. For nearly 30 years, Paulson has had an active career in public relations, marketing and advertising in a diverse array of for-profit and nonprofit organizations receiving both local and national professional awards. Paulson serves on the CDC OSH Media Campaign Resource Center Committee and was a contributor to the CDC OSH Best Practices for Comprehensive Tobacco Control Programs 2014.In her role at TSET, Paulson oversees three award-winning statewide health communication interventions, Shape Your Future, Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline and Tobacco Stops With Me, designed to positively impact citizens knowledge, attitude and behaviors toward tobacco cessation, prevention and living tobacco free, and about obesity by increasing physical activity and improving nutrition. Additionally, Paulson directs the statewide health communication consultation for TSET grantees and partners. Publications on the evaluation of the health communication interventions can be found in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine and the Oklahoma State Medical Association Journal.Paulson supervises a Health Communication staff of three with an annual program budget of approximately $13 million.
